When Everybody is Using ChatGPT

With all the hype about AI Chat, especially ChatGPT, you might get the idea that it’s simple for anyone to make thousands of dollars per week by typing in a few short commands. As with most hyped up technologies, it’s not so simple.

A clue to why it can’t be this easy is the sheer number of people using ChatGPT and lots of other emerging tools and software. Many of these tools are either free or very low cost, making them easily accessible. Furthermore, the massive amount of hype around AI right now is exhausting. New articles on Medium, videos on YouTube, and other platforms is making sure everyone who knows how to use a browser knows about this technology. There was once a certain time lag between early adapters to, say, social media and smartphones, and mass usage. Today, that time lag is closer to weeks rather than years.

With mass usage, we have to recognize the equalizing factor. Anything you can do with an application such as ChatGPT, so can everyone else. This includes writing articles (and even books), creating art, and using AI for various marketing tools such as sales letters and videos. It can certainly help you save time and generate ideas, but don’t expect to suddenly get rich.

The following video by Max Maher, despite its clickbait-y title (not really any bizarre skills involved), makes some good points, mostly that the real secret of using such tools is to learn how to give them precise instructions. This, of course, requires a certain amount of creativity and a focus to do something aside from following the herd.
