With all the hype surrounding ChatGPT, it’s not surprising that its creators would start charging to use it. OpenAI, the company that created the bot, is now offering a subscription for ChatGPT Plus. For $20/month, paying users will get “priority access.”
Priority access is a real issue because, as the service has gotten popular so quickly, many users are locked out during peak times. For now, anyone can still use ChatGPT for free. However, there’s never a guarantee that it will be available.
The OpenAI page states that priority users will get these benefits:
- General access to ChatGPT, even during peak times
- Faster response times
- Priority access to new features and improvements
The site also says that the service is currently only available in the United States and that there’s already a waiting list.
